Ivan Idso is a community activist in SE Minnesota. He has organized numerous events to introduce people to the polycrisis including an annual EarthFest Expo featuring sustainability vendors, classes, keynote speaker, EV show, etc. Recently he has worked with Dougald Hine to create and distribute the Black Elephant pins to bring greater awareness globally.
Finding Each other in the Ruins
The 2008 crisis threw together a lot of us who were ready to talk about the fragility of the systems that our societies take for granted. We’re living through another moment in which that sense of fragility is being brought home to many people around us – so my hope is that the resources we’re bringing together are of some help to those who are trying to find their bearings.

Anthropogenic Man: a documentary on the human predicament
I have organized an event each year for our community around Earth Day for the last ten years. This year I was able to do a live event with an all-star lineup, so I decided to dress it up and make it into a documentary so it could hopefully be more alluring to people new to this line of thought.
